Yungu Pty Ltd is a proudly Aboriginal-owned and Aboriginal-led contractor delivering integrated mine rehabilitation, civil earthworks and heavy project logistics across Western Australia’s mining, energy and resources sector. Unlike single-service contractors, we deliver under one accountable partner: fewer interfaces, faster mobilisation, and a single point of accountability, backed by a workforce already on Tier 1 rehabilitation and civil programs across the Pilbara.
We are majority owned and led by Toia Smith, a Thalanyji woman from Onslow, in strategic partnership with the One Field Group and Trident Transport, so clients deal with a capable, delivery-ready contractor from day one, not a start-up finding its feet.

A proud Thalanyji woman from Onslow and Yungu’s majority owner, Toia brings both cultural authority and rigorous grounding to Yungu’s leadership, with 10+ years’ experience in the resource industry on major LNG construction and operations projects. She founded the No Biru Foundation and is commercialising a native seed enterprise, extending rehabilitation across the full lifecycle.

Luke’s career began underground with Redpath Mining before moving into civil construction and shutdowns with Kiewit and commissioning with Bechtel. He led start-up construction and commissioning across Chevron’s Australian LNG assets and held responsibility as a Chevron-endorsed Permit Isolation Officer, underpinning Yungu’s commitment to controlled, verifiable, safe execution on every site.
Business Development & Project Coordinator
Blake brings a hands-on trade background, from carpentry into rigging, with six years as a rigger across the FIFO sector on major shutdown campaigns throughout WA. He applies that frontline experience to growing client relationships and coordinating projects from tender through to site delivery.
